Back to the drawing board I guess.

Your company is named WHAT?So, on a recce today, I hand someone my new business card and he looks at it and asks, “Ummm, what is this company you work for? Media.. BOTCH?

Not only did I have to give him a shit-eating grin and tell him he was wrong but I then had to tell the old man that the name was actually Media BITCH!
He then suppressed the ‘riiiight’ look in his eyes and gave me a polite smile and a nod.

Which brings me to something very obvious about names that is good to say out loud to oneself occasionally nonetheless:

Rule Number 1 of Names: If you have to explain them, they don’t work.

P.S. My internet connection for the next few days is limited to the 2-4 kbps my cellular phone paired to my laptop can manage. Want to hear something funny? Airtel’s GPRS service is called (in a huge bout of either optimism or irony) ‘Mobile Office’. Riiiiight!

I miss broadband. Also, while we are on the topic of things I miss, running water.

P.P.S. Regular programming shall resume on Tuesday.

The (not so) Brand New Heavies.

May 25th, 2009

Brit Funk/Jazz group The Brand New Heavies’ ’97 single, Sometimes. Some people say that The Brand New Heavies remind them of R. Kelly. To those people I say what R Kelly did to that girl reminds me of YOUR MOM!

P.S. I cant be bothered to post the link to the MP3. Just fucking Google it already!

The more things change…

May 18th, 2009

The brother just got himself a MacBook and was going through the usual switcher phases and it reminded me of this ad from almost two decades ago. To this day it takes great self control to keep from blurting out the last line from this ad whenever a PC user is bitching about computer problems.

Swine flu my ass!

May 12th, 2009

Swine Flu!

Are you tired of the same old bullshit media hype about swine flu and the pictures of people with those ridiculous face masks on? I sure am. Yesterday, I saw a picture of cheerleaders at some kind of game in the US, cheerleading WITH FACE MASKS ON! Geeez.

To be fair they aren’t exactly MENSA candidates are they? The Americans not the cheerleaders…

Anyways… Click the picture for a link to desktop and iPhone sized wallpapers. Enjoy!

Sing Aloud Song for the day.

May 9th, 2009

Say It Ain’t So by Weezer, (video by Sophie Muller) from their self-titled debut album (also known as the Blue Album) in 1994. Though it was overshadowed by the other hits from the album its still great to sing out loud after a few drinks. Or roll down your windows when in a traffic jam and burst into the chorus at the top of your voice. Just to fuck with people.
